Protection needs continuing attention

Fire system maintenance

Make servicing, faults and remedial actions easier for your building team to manage.

A service record should help you act.

SYREX’s fire work includes fire alarm maintenance and emergency-lighting testing. A maintenance arrangement should identify the systems covered, the visit requirements, the access arrangements and how findings are reported and closed out.

01

Plan the visits

Coordinate maintenance and testing around the building and the systems in service.

02

Understand the findings

Receive records that identify observations, faults and recommended actions.

03

Track the outstanding work

Give remedial requirements an owner and a next step.

The specialist detail

Service the system and close the actions.

01

A clear asset scope

Identify the installed system, areas covered and records available. Fire alarms, emergency lighting and suppression equipment need their own appropriate tasks and technical competence.

02

Access and disruption

Plan visits with the building team, including access to devices and any arrangements required while systems are being tested or work is undertaken.

03

Findings that can be acted on

Record work completed, defects and any limitations. Separate routine servicing from remedial proposals and retain evidence when an outstanding item is corrected.

Define these in the proposal
  • Asset and service schedule
  • Planned visit arrangements
  • Service findings and defect information
  • Remedial-action and next-visit records
The practical detail

A service record should answer practical questions.

A service record should answer practical questions
The areaWhat we discuss
SystemWhich alarm, emergency-lighting or other agreed system was serviced?
WorkWhat inspection or test activity was completed?
FindingsWhich observations, faults or limitations were identified?
ActionsWhat needs correcting, who decides the work and how is completion recorded?
What we plan with you

From the discussion
to the delivery.

The building team needs to know what was inspected, the result and what still requires attention. We keep planned service activity distinct from additional remedial work, with the terms defined in the maintenance arrangement. Suppression-system servicing requires the relevant system knowledge and a separately confirmed scope.

The delivery conversation
  • System and maintenance-scope review
  • Servicing and testing arrangements
  • Visit reports and fault information
  • Remedial-work requirements
  • An ongoing support contact
Before we talk

Useful answers.

Have a specific site or building in mind? Start with a conversation.

Talk to the team
Do you test emergency lighting?

Emergency-lighting testing forms part of the current fire support offer. The building and testing requirements are established when the service is scoped.

Can maintenance cover multiple systems?

The systems, competences and visit requirements must be confirmed. Tell us what is installed and we can identify the appropriate support route.
